Hurricane Agnes Flooded North East More; Who Says It's Over Yet?

Author: Lance Winslow

The Northeastern United States is massively flooded and rivers are cresting their banks everywhere in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland and Up State New York as the run-off continues. But that is not all you see, as there are more storms and more rain on its way.

Many are saying that Hurricane Agnes a few years back caused more damage and flooding, yet who says this flooding is not done yet? It takes many days for that water to drain out of the hills and tributaries and it is just now making it to the Delaware and other rivers.

It is far from over and in Pennsylvania alone 200,000 people have been evacuated. Another storm is expected the first of next week and is making its way from West to Eastern US. Meanwhile with wet ground for the next few weeks we must worry about a Hurricane or Tropical Storm and the remnants of that. Yes it is true; Hurricane Agnes flooded the North East much more than this set of storms, but Who Says Its Over Yet?

It is far from over and this set of storms and flooding easily could cost government over half a Billion Dollars or more and Insurance Companies at least that month. Lets face it with many towns flooded, Washington DC Agencies in ruin and many deaths, this is no little flooding event. Let us hope it does not get worse. Consider all this in 2006.
