Weight Loss Planning - Increasing Your Skills to increase your success

Maybe you're asking why does weight loss require planning? The reason why weight loss requires planning is because from my experience, trying to lose weight is very difficult. It can feel as if the whole universe is against you the lonely dieter. Careful planning helps you move towards your weight loss goals. Here are 15 tips to kick start your weigth loss planning to begin an exciting and successful weight loss journey. While everyone else is out having fun, eating and drinking whatever they want, poor you has to struggle with restrictions on what you can eat and drink. It sure is no fun cutting back and making yourself deny your appetite whatever it wants. Moreover, its so easy to talk yourself out of going after your desired outcome. After all, being slim is such a l-o-n-g term goal and besides what difference could this one little treat make? and you know what? I've been SO GOOD all week so I deserve this one little treat. You know how it goes - you've probably said all these kind of things too at some stage on your various weight loss journeys.

So you can see, it's so easy to talk yourself out of your desired outcome and fall back to your old undisciplined ways. I know, because I have done this over, and over, and over again. And after 10 years of letting myself do whatever my self wanted (and my self always seemed to want all the high sugar, high carb stuff) I finally said enough is enough - it's time to take control over my self rather than IT controlling me.

So, planning is part of the strategy because as we have discussed, this is not going to be easy. OK, but what does weight loss planning require?

If you just think about it for a moment - weightloss planning requires you to first consider everything that could affect your desired outcome of losing the weight you want. That means controlling all the variables including you and the world around you.

1) Getting the right weight loss program.

2) Finding out what each program requires. This includes: how long it takes; what kind of food and drink you can consume; what quantities you can consume; what times you can consume; what level of exercise is required; what supplements you need to take etc.

3) Getting the right tools. This includes reading material of the weight loss program to follow, scales, tape measure, weight loss progress chart, weight loos food and ingredients, food, labels, packs, containers, recipes etc.

4) Organising what you will do and say when you make food for others. This includes: what you will say to others when you cook food for others - family, friends etc and especially if they try to get you off your program.

5) Organising what you should do and say when you go out for dinner.

6) Organising ahead what kind of take away / take out food you are permitted to eat while on your weight loss program.

7) Organising what you will do when you are invited to go to a party.

8) Organising the kind of tastes you you like best on the diet program.

9) Organising how you monitor your progress.

10) Finding out what is your goal weight.

11) Deciding or finding out a time frame on how long it will take to reach your goal weight.

12) Organising a routine so you can get into 'weight loss auto pilot' as soon as possible (Free tip: this is a big time success secret).

13) Organising back up and support - coaches, mentors etc.

14) Organising your rewards for when you achieve your goal weight.

15) Identifying who and what could sabotage your success (it could be someone who loves you very much - or it could be you).

There are probably other things you could plan - but I found this was a really good start that helped me plan my weight loss journey so it was a success.
