Your Beach Wedding - What If It Rains?

Author: Cindy English

Outdoor party tents or wedding canopies are something you should give serious consideration when planning a beach wedding. Not only do they offer you shelter from an unexpected shower, but they provide protection from the sun and seagulls too.

The really terrific thing about outdoor wedding tents is that they are soooo versatile. Since they can be set up on almost any surface including grass and sand, they are perfect for beach and garden weddings. You can get beautiful open-air wedding canopies that allow the gentle breezes to blow through or you may want a framed tent complete with side walls, windows and air-conditioning.

Apart from offering very affordable protection from the elements, outdoor wedding tents can really add to your wedding theme.

  • An elegant white euro-style tent would add such elegance to an 'Arabian Nights' wedding theme. Decorate it with 'magic' lanterns, colorful linens, woven 'snake charming' baskets (minus the snakes of course) and a few palm trees.

  • A celebration style tent illuminated with tiki candles and luau decorations would make an excellent addition to a Hawaiian wedding theme.

  • Several smaller tents could be decorated and serve as beach-side 'tiki bars' that would definitely ad pizzazz to a Caribbean style wedding.

  • Even a 'Cinderella' theme reception would be magical in a gorgeous white sailcloth canopy draped in tulle and twinkling lights!

You can rent and put up your own outdoor party tent or you can choose from one of the many companies that offer wedding tent rentals. Usually they have a whole host of services that you might also find useful. Not only can they deliver and erect your wedding canopy but many offer all the necessities needed to pull off a memorable wedding reception - tables, chairs, dance floors, decorations and even the tableware!

Whether you are having a large formal wedding or a small casual affair, an outdoor party tent can be a beautiful and very sensible addition to your setting. Don't rent one to be used "just in case" it rains. Envision your theme and incorporate your wedding canopy into it. With a little imagination, your canopy will serve as a romantic stage for your magical event rather than a last minute after-thought.

Remember, it is still considered to be a 'good luck' omen to have rain on your wedding day so, don't worry about it, just prepare for it! With a beautiful wedding canopy your day will be awesome - rain or shine!
