Creating Your Own Recipes

Author: Kimberly Chang

Do you love to cook? If you do, you probably get tired of using the same old recipes that are in almost every cookbook you buy. There is a way to get around the hum drum recipe options and onto something more creative that you are sure to love. Creating your own recipes is the way to do it.

The first thing you need to do when you start creating your own recipes is realize that you must be fearless in your quest. There will be times when the recipes you create will not be delicious and times when they will be great. Get your friends or family to commit to trying your new dishes and to give you an honest opinion of what they think. When you have honest people around you, you can be sure that you have a hit or sometimes a miss.

Although there are certain foods and spices that traditionally go together, you may want to try to think outside of the box when creating your own recipes. If you try to be too traditional, you will be making the things you are trying to get away from and the tastes will be the same as the average recipe. So, be sure you try seasoning and spices that you would otherwise not try. When you get brave and put foods together that ordinarily wouldnt go together, you may find a treat that you never would have expected. After all there was a time when no one thought bananas and peanut butter went together, but now it is a hit all around!
